16 Super Benefits of Reading Aloud to Babies

Sprinting. Panting. Worrying. Bastian is trying desperately to escape from the cruel bullies. He’s just climbed out of a dumpster after they tossed him into it. But the bullies are in pursuit again! He can hear their footsteps and voices getting closer and closer. Just as it seems that there’s no escape, Bastian darts into a bookstore. There Bastian meets an elderly man there, who’s reading a book that he warns is “not safe.” The boy borrows the book anyway, and when he opens it later, he’s transported into an exciting new world.

“The Neverending Story” is a movie about a book, and based on a book. When I first saw it as a youngster, I was captivated by the unique characters, such as the luckdragon: a dragon with a dog’s head; the friendly giant called Rockbiter; and Morla the Ancient One: a turtle that looks like a huge hill. Books like this can provide as much enjoyment as your fhi runaway iron provides you.

In language learning, reading and listening are considered the “passive” skills, while writing and speaking are classified as “active” skills. Before your child can read an entire book or even a word, reading to him or her will be helpful in improving language skills. Reading books for babies aloud to toddlers, provides several benefits:

1. Improves the child’s skills for listening like the Highest Rated Flat Irons improves your hair.
2. Creates meaningful “teaching moments” in which the child can be instructed.
3. Improves the child’s chance of succeeding later in reading, schoolwork, and life itself!
4. Allows the child to perceive books as toys that are fun and useful as their mothers perceive an fhi heat runway hair straightener to be.
5. Makes the child more confident to express himself or herself through speaking and writing. Having confidence will increase the speed at which a child learns a language.
6. Learning phrases and rhymes that repeat, allows the child to feel that he or she has accomplished something.
7. Improves and develops a child’s natural sense of curiosity about his or her world.
8. Allows the child to imagine the stories as he or she hears the story being read.
9. Nurtures a child’s appreciation of the arts, through the various methods of illustration that appear in books.
10. Teaches the child the differences between text, pictures, and the real world. Helps children to learn that text can be read, but pictures cannot be read. Also, they learn that text and pictures can represent objects and people that exist in the real world.
11. Increases the child’s vocabulary with words that they can comprehend and use themselves
12. Provides important interaction between the parent and child. Like an fhi runway iron, it has become even more valuable in our fast-paced society.
13. Links reading with happy feelings, which will have a lasting impact on how he or she perceives reading in the future
14. Connects the stories and illustrations in books to the child’s real world
15. Teaches children about proper behavior. Reading aloud to children also introduces them to new scenarios in the world, as the fhi heat runway hair straightener can introduce you to exciting new hairstyles.
16. Increases the child’s attention span and ability to concentrate. This is particularly useful in our “sound-byte” society.

German novelist Heinrich Mann once wrote, “A house without books is like a room without windows.” Indeed, books for babies are as useful to toddler’s development, as a Chi Flat Iron is to improving hair. But even before a child can read, he or she should be read to. It will help the toddler o know the world around them like a book!
